Primarily a problem in northern and central Europe
Causes problems in cattle or sheep grazing near forests or bushes.
Adult flies feed on body fluids of cattle and congregate around eyes, nostrils and wounds
Transmit bacteria responsible for mastitis in dry cows and young stock
